TPO is a single-ply membrane, usually white, that is fastened or adhered to the roof and heat-welded at every seam. The welded seams make a continuous waterproof sheet, and the reflective surface helps keep the building cooler. It is a go-to choice for commercial buildings, condos and low-slope sections of homes in Southwest Florida.

Why TPO
- Heat-welded seams that are stronger than adhesive-only systems.
- Reflective white surface that reduces heat gain.
- Lightweight, which matters on older buildings.
- Can be installed over tapered insulation to fix ponding and improve drainage.
Our TPO process
- Core cuts and a moisture check of the existing roof.
- Removal of wet insulation and failed membrane.
- Tapered insulation or crickets where drainage needs help.
- Mechanically attached or fully adhered membrane, with heat-welded seams probed for quality.
- New edge metal, scuppers and penetration flashings.
TPO vs. modified bitumen
Both are good flat-roof systems. TPO is reflective and has welded seams. Modified bitumen is thick, tough and handles foot traffic well. See our flat roofing page for more.

Honestly didn't know much about what I needed going in, but Miles made the whole thing pretty painless. He was straightforward, answered all my questions without making me feel like I was bothering him, and the work got done when they said it would.
No surprises or runarounds, just solid work at a fair price. The crew cleaned up after themselves too, which I appreciated more than I expected to. Would definitely use Epoch Roofing again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone.
